Caitlin Spalding M.A., CCC-SLP: A Therapist Spotlight

What brought you to The Speech Spot?

Liz and I worked together at the same elementary school a few years ago. She was a great resource for me as I was a fairly new therapist at the time.  Now that I have two busy kids at home, working again with Liz at The Speech Spot is a perfect opportunity to continue providing therapy but with a schedule that works with my family’s schedule.

Do you have any areas of special interest?

I have a special interest in treating phonological process disorders, supporting individuals who use AAC, and promoting early language development in young children.

What's your favorite part about being a speech therapist?

I love that my job is essentially to coach and partner with my students, as we together tackle challenges they face in the areas of speech and language.

What's your favorite children's book?

Anything by Mo Willems!

Lightening round....

Harry Potter or Disney?

Disney

Beach or Mountains?

Mountains

Sweet or Salty?

Salty

Starbucks, all day! or Coffee, no way!

Starbucks- Iced lattes are the best!

When you aren't in the therapy room, what keeps you busy?

I’m usually spending time with my husband and two kids, traveling to visit friends and family, working in my yard, trying new recipes, going on walks, and attending yoga and kickboxing classes.

We are thrilled to have Caitlin join our team! Her professionalism, knowledge, and calming personality are a great fit for our team. Welcome, Caitlin!
